It is quite a privilege to partner with parents as we work together to develop children’s spiritual, academic and social lives. This is my first year teaching at Trinity First. Throughout the years I have taught in formal and informal ways. After I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin, I taught first grade. When my husband and I had children, I was able to stay home and homeschool them from first grade through eighth grade; what a joy that was! I have worked as an intervention reading teacher in the public school and was a substitute in the North St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale School District for years.
I live in South Maplewood with my husband, Ben, and my kids, Nate (16), Eli (14) and Ava Jane (13). Ministry has always been a central part of our lives and one of our greatest adventures. We enjoy sharing the love of Jesus with others. God has called us to walk closely in discipleship with others and, for me, this includes the students at Trinity First. When I have some downtime, I try to spend it outside. I love to hike new trails, kayak our beautiful rivers and take long walks with my husband. My favorite moments of the day are when I can snag some quality time with my family.
