Equipping Learners, Sharing Hope
Carrie Butcher

Hello! My name is Carrie Butcher and my role at Trinity First is Director of Community Outreach & Family Advocacy. This August marks my tenth school year at Trinity First! I have a Bachelor of Science from Winona State with an emphasis in Health Promotion: Community Studies. I have many roles at Trinity First including Director of Summer Bridge to Success, leader of 2nd-8th grade Girls’ Clubs and K & 1st grades Friendship Groups, organizer of the Parent Education nights, and our annual Community Family Fair. Trinity First has given me the chance to be a missionary in my own city, serving God by serving others.
Director of Summer Bridge to Success (SBS) - SBS is a mixture of VBS, summer school, and summer camp all rolled into one! Based on a different theme each summer, students and kids from our community gather to refresh and continue their studies in math, reading, and writing. They grow in art, science, and movement in the afternoons and enjoy a weekly field trip. As the Director of this program I encourage kids to keep growing and stay connected during the summer months, I plan field trips that educate and stretch their imaginations and attempt to give them new & hands on experiences in art and science, all through the lens of God’s awesome creation!
Parent Education Nights - As an elementary school we work with students every day, but working with their families is part of the holistic view of Family Education here at TFL. Parent Education Nights are held twice a month (September- April) and are a safe place for parents to discuss and learn parenting topics.
Girls’ Clubs - Life is confusing, but God is constant. In Girls’ Clubs, I work to wade through life’s ups and downs with each group of girls I lead, helping them name emotions, settle conflict, teach them how to strive to be a girl of God, give them new experiences in cooking and crafts, and to build their self-worth and confidence as a child of God!
Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love. Eph 5:1-2
