Welcome to 4th Grade!
Greetings Families,

Roles and rooms keep changing here.  I’m moving up in the world, or at least in the building.  Last year I had the fourth graders in the small room in the cafeteria.  We were cramped but had a good time.  The 2009-2010 school year I worked full-time as the Director of Tiger Club, math teacher for sixth, seventh, and eighth grades, and the morning Kindergarten aid.  I actually came here for the first time in the fall of 2006, as an occasional substitute for the Tiger Club Program and for the teachers.  In the fall of 2007, I did my student teaching in the third and fourth grade classroom with Mrs. Terri Bentz.
I graduated that December from Concordia University, St. Paul, with distinction, with my degree in Elementary Education, a Lutheran Confessional minor, and an emphasis in Mathematics.  I returned to Concordia to become a Director of Christian Education.  While working on my colloquy, I interned as the Youth Ministries Coordinator at Golden Valley Lutheran Church and worked part-time as Assistant Director of the Tiger Club Program. I am a licensed teacher and a certified DCE.

I grew up in the Twin Cities and love being here.  My family has now moved away, but I couldn’t leave just yet; I had found a home at TFL. In March of 2011, I got married to Brandon Lay, whom I had met through a Bible Study group.  We now have a house in New Hope, and a pet Bearded Dragon named Little Foot.  Married life for us is wonderful and I look forward to spending my life with him in Christ.

It has been a blessing to work here at Trinity First Lutheran School.  I am glad to be here and work with you and your children.  Communication is important so feel free to call me before or after school!

Blessings,

Nicole Lay
